This shot is an establishing shot of the main character and shows him in the first shot. The close up also shows the audience the emotion of the character while he is sleeping, this is the first sign to the audience that the character has mental problems. This close up shot also shows the audience the emotion on the characters face and again in another shot shows the audience that the character may have mental problems. Having two shots showing the audience this early on of the characters distress will stick with them throughout the film. Non-continuity Film & Evaluation

The non-continuity edit has a lot of key features that make it non-continuity and show the audience that the timeline of the film is not linear. The biggest non-continuity edit I made was to alter the beginning and end of the film. I made the decision to move the ending from the the last scene of the film to the first scene. This meant the films timeline was not linear. This was clear to the audience as the main character Tom is panicking and having a mental breakdown, when in the next scene, he is waking up and starting his morning. This causes the audience to have immense intrigue and be on the edge of their seat for the rest of the film as they try to perceive how the main character ends up up in this situation. To help show the audience that there has been a change from a linear timeline to a non-linear timeline there is a dramatic change in lighting from the first scene (the end) to the main character starting his day in bright lighting, which implies to the audience that ...

Single camera techniques

Single camera production uses only one camera and various shots and angles are taken using only one camera if a scene cuts back and forth between two actors the director will first shoot all shots with one actor then run the scene from point b with a second actor. This camera method that is used by filmmakers in comedy and drama, by tv programs in sitcom and used a lot in corporate video production. Multi-camera production uses more than one camera, generally in production to outer cameras will shoot close up shots or crosses of the two most active characters, while two central cameras would shoot a wider master shot. This way multiple shots would be caught in one take and is used a lot in shows that have a high output like soap operas. Also is vital part of live television like news programs, as shown below.
